Attitudes and Missed Opportunities

(7/22/15) I'm getting into the elevator as this attractive lady is stepping out. I say, "Excuse me, ma'am?" as I point to the floor.

She never makes eye contact and says "good day" and keeps walking.

I then blurt out, "You dropped something on..."

But, before I can finish, she says, "Thank you, have a nice day, sir," in one breath and disappears around the corner.

I step into the elevator and proceed to pick up the $10 that I can only assume that she dropped.

I understand that some women get flirted with constantly.  Especially when you're attractive.  However, every guy is not the same.  99 may try to get your attention in an attempt to vie for your affections, but Guy #100 may just be trying to tell you to watch out for that oncoming bus.  Stop assuming.

Oh, well. Lunch is on her today. :)

  1. This doesn't completely surprise me. As a woman I tend to avoid eye contact with guys and keep it moving. I'll mumble hello if they speak first. Some guys just think that if you look at them and utter a word, that opens the door for... whatever. But you're right--lumping every guy into that category could lead to something worse. Thanks for the reminder.

    1. I get that, MNF. I'm sure it's tiring dealing with knucklehead after knucklehead. I bet it's not easy, but hopefully people will understand that some people are just nice people. :)

  2. Way to stick it to her! Women who are flirted with constantly still have no right to be snobs.

    1. I agree, Aaron. I bet it's frustrating for them, but people should still be given the benefit of the doubt. Our country has slowly turned into "guilty until proven innocent."

  3. Well I always try and be friendly but I know not all women do which can be frustrating to men who are just trying to say hello. I think it's just polite to not give people the cold shoulder.

  4. So true Quincy! I agree with you. Some women just think their shit don't stink or everybody wants them, and it's far from true. Sometimes, they could be having a bad day or not happy with themselves which would produce that kind of actuon/attitude.

    1. Yeah, maybe she was having a bad day, Larissa. I'm unsure. It was costly though. :)
