Well, I'll break it down for you the best that I can. I won't discuss the guys who fantasize about sleeping with the strippers because these are simply pervs. They will pay the stripper's bills, but will stalk her afterwards. I'm talking about the normal guys who don't have a stripper's photo surrounded by burning incense in the basement. I'm talking about normal guys like me.
Now, first of all, I haven't been in a strip club in over a decade, but I did hang out there now and then back when I first moved out of my parents' house. At first, it was just to hang out with the guys and try something new. Of all of the movies I'd seen about them, I really didn't expect much from going, but I was pretty surprised.
There was good music,
That may be true to an extent, but let's be honest: some men are going to go look at other women just because they can. But, for the average guys like me and my friends, we enjoyed hanging out at these clubs because of the heightened attention we received. You're treated like a celebrity when you go into a strip club. Women are all over you as soon as you come through the door and people are bringing you drinks. Your every need is being catered to by good-looking women.
When a man's ego is being stroked, he doesn't care why it's happening, only that it's happening.
Contrary to what women may think they're doing for their significant other, it may not compare to what Cinnamon and Trixie are doing down at "Tall Tails." So, ladies, if you have a man, then do him a solid now and then. Tell him before he comes home to stop by the ATM. Turn on some music and fix him a drink. Put on some sexy attire and commence to shake what your momma gave you.
How low can you go? |
Now I was single at the time, so there was nothing at home for me, but what kept me going every Friday night was the booty shaking. The club I frequented was like walking into a Ludacris video. The booties didn't just clap, they gave a round of applause. And a male never gets tired of seeing booty shaking (as shown in the video below). However, at some point, you have to grow up and do other things with your money. I visited the strip club for roughly every Friday night for two months before I decided enough was enough. It was fun while it lasted, but knowing that these women were going to get you all "charged up" only to go home alone got old. I started seeing too many pathetic old men and some of those aforementioned stalkers and realized I didn't want to be in a place with those types. There was one guy that we met there who was in his early 50's, married 30 years and claimed that he spends roughly $500-$700 a week in the club. The girls knew him by name and he probably put so many of them through school that they have a scholarship named after him. After all, strippers are just trying to put themselves through college, right? :)
I didn't want to be "that guy." I've never wanted to be the old man in the dance club and I definitely didn't want to be the old man at the strip club. That's not to say I wouldn't go to a strip club again, but I'll never be a weekly customer any more. After a while, you have to realize that if you put dollars into the g-string of your wife/girlfriend at home, then you're probably getting more than just a lap dance.

I had never been to a place like this until recently. It was a famous Idaho bikini bar (haha) and I went with my sister in law. She was the one that talked me into going.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, I can see the allure of the attention. Her and I found a pool table in the back, and proceeded to make fun of the talent, the patrons, the music, etc.
Until I bought her a private dance. After that, she LOVED the place...
I'm thinking of crossing state lines and taking her to a real strip club next...
B, if you do, she'll really be hooked. Bikini bars and strip clubs are different in women and aggression. They come at you hard in the strip clubs to get you to open your wallet. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteEvery once in a while a strip club evening can be a lot of fun. The key is to not go alone (because that's just kinda sad) and go with a group of people who just want to have a good time. I have no problem with my man going to a strip club (he's not the type), as long as I can come along! I like watching sexy ladies climb the poles!
ReplyDeleteThanks for breaking it down for us Q. If guys want to part with their money at a strip club then who can really fault the women who charm their wallets? With that being said, strip joints seem to have gotten more skanky and touchy feely over the years. The days of pretty woman shaking their money makers on a stage ...and at a safe distance from men being able to touch them seems to have been replaced with hooker ladies who crawl and rub all over the guys. Not so sure I'd want my man at one of those places today...
ReplyDeleteI totally get why guys go. I have never had a problem with a man heading to a strip club. Inevitably they get all riled up and come home to me ready to make crazy monkey sex and I have to put in little to no effort to get him that way. Um...perfect. That is if it's his own money and we aren't struggling financially.
ReplyDeleteThat being said I haven't gone though I have plans to go with a bunch of my guy friends and some of their ladies. I wrote a whole post on this at my old blog and I don't really have an issue with a guy heading there. I don't take it personally...though of course this is a guys night out, bachelor party, 2-3 times a year kind of thing.
I do plenty to keep the spice, make my man know he is desired, and to stroke his...um...ego. I wrote a whole post on that as well...making your man feel like a man. I am not claiming to know it all but I've never had a guy I was serious with ever have to go outside our relationship for real world stimulation (anything other than porn). Just saying.
Ah, the strip club debate. This has caused many an argument in my home. But I blame myself. I didn't have much of an issue with my husband going to the strip club when we were dating. It was just a (somewhat frequent) night out with his boys. But once we got married, I wasn't as accommodating. I even went with him a couple of times. Big mistake. I was so utterly disgusted. But I do think that if a woman is performing her own tricks, flips and somersaults at home, he'll be less inclined to visit the strip club.
ReplyDelete@ Tsaritsa - Not only is going to a strip club alone sad, it's expensive! Those women prey on loners. I've seen it!
ReplyDelete@ Empress - You're right. They're on another level these days. Things have evolved over the years and in a society of instant gratification and aggression, no one wants to sit on their hands and watch these days. Especially with the economy so bad. They want to feel as if they're getting their money's worth.
@ Jewels - I'm sure they'll wind up making your blog post on stroking a man's, er, uh, ego into an instruction manual some day. The Mrs. probably wouldn't have a problem with me going if it's a special occasion.
ReplyDelete@ Tiffany - A gymnast is never lonely. :) MEMO TO ALL MEN: do not take your woman to a strip club. Period. Take her to a gentleman's club where they have standards. If you take her to a strip club (or "scrip" club depending on where you're from), then she will not be happy with seeing women "clapping cheeks" within inches of guys' noses. It may be the last time she lets you go anywhere alone.
AHA! I think I just figured out what my opinion is on this (with your last memo on Tiffany's comment). I do NOT dig the "scrip" club scene. Nas-teeeeee. The gentleman's clubs - I think I could be much more tolerant of. I'm not a huge fan of stripping for money in general; I think it's degrading for women, but to each her own if she wants to do it and finds someone to pay her for it. Having said that - I cannot even stomach the idea of male strippers. I'm sorry, but women are so much nicer to look at then men - I just do not find anything "sexy" about a dude doing a strip tease - it's just ridiculous - sorry, but men don't have that kind of "mojo" when it comes to being sultry and sensuous as far as stripping goes. You'd catch my ass in a "gentleman's club" (not a skanky strip club) wayyyyy before you'd ever catch me in a club watching male strippers. Hell, I'd watch a drag queen show before I watched a regular male stripper show.
ReplyDelete@ Reck - I agree with you. Women are a lot nicer to look at than men. LOL! You know, what you said did make me realize that there aren't too many male strip clubs around, are there? Aside from big cities, you can't find them. We had one here once and I think it was only open for like 20 minutes. LOL! Women just don't care to see men strip. At least not pay for it.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a problem with a guy going to a trip club once in a while...I only have a problem if he starts doing it regularly, or if he isn't hot and horny at the end of his night out, or if his sex drive is suddenly drastically different.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Meena, the latter could be a serious problem. I haven't been to a strip club in quite some time. Maybe since 2000. They're just not worth it for me any more. It was a novelty that wore off fairly quickly. I'd rather put dollars in my lady's panties. At least I might actually score if I do so. :)
DeleteGreat timing! I just took a pole dancing class and unleashed my inner stripper! Hahaha ... but in all seriousness I think it's completely fine if a guy wants to go to a strip club, as long as you have trust and respect in your relationship there's nothing to worry about. Besides, what's wrong with someone else warming him up if he comes home to you? Just saying ...
ReplyDeleteWait. What? You took a class? Nice! Seriously, I'm cool if a woman doesn't mind her guy doing that. However, I prefer that my woman warm me up, so strip clubs just aren't for me any more. They had their brief time and place back in the day, but at some point I matured and decided to keep those dollars in-house.
DeleteWomen are under the misconception that they are the only ones in the relationship who long to feel desired. When in reality a man wants to feel yearned for by his partner as she does! I love the line "give him a solid", not just for all the euphemisms [and you know how I love them so} but also for the power in this statement. It's true! Great post Q!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marrie! I'm so glad that you get the concept of the blog post! Men do like to be craved, but some women just don't get that. They think because we're normally the aggressors that we don't appreciate our lady coming on to us. That's so far from the truth, but it's something a lot of guys live with in their relationships.
