The 2011 Stunner Championship Match-Up

On March 18th, 18 participants set out to become the best blogger on the web. One-by-one, they stepped up and presented their best posts. And one-by-one, they were eliminated and left with only shattered dreams of what would not be in 2011. But, two have survived the storm. Two have endured the onslaught of blogger after blogger to make it to the ultimate pinnacle of the blogging world. Enter The Stunner Championship.

Michelle of Mommy Confessions
Started the tournament with 368 followers
She now has a total of 402 followers for a +34 gain

Michelle is a former social worker turned stay at home mom to 3 children. She has a degree in Social Work from Temple University in Philadelphia. She graduated Magna Cum Laude and put that degree to good use wiping snotty noses, potty training toddlers, and keeping 3 a.m. sick bed vigils. She used to hail from the City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Devotion (yeah they added that part to be more PC), but was dragged kicking and screaming across the bridge about 10 years ago. In New Jersey is where you will now find Michelle, her husband of 11 years, their 3 children, and 2 dogs.

Brandon of My Own Private Idaho
Started contest the tournament 396 followers
He now has a total of 447 followers for a +51 gain

Brandon lost his job last April. High cost of living, combined with unstable work took its toll on him. By August '10, he was at a breaking point, and by September, he and his girlfriend decided to pack up their belongings and move from California to Idaho. Brandon had lived in the Riverside, CA area since he was about 3. The free-thinking, open-minded, tech savvy culture is what he always called home. 30 minutes from the beach, 30 minutes from the mountains. Vegas, Mexico, both 4 hours away. He essentially had life at his fingertips. Until... Idaho.

Over 2,000 votes have been made, but they no longer count. Only votes from Saturday afternoon until midnight Eastern Time, on Monday, April 4th matter. The votes casted during that time will crown the first-ever champion of The Thank, Q for Bloggers Tournament. That champion will then display the exclusive Stunner Award on their page for the blogging world to see... forever.

The Dust Has Settled... / Consolation Finals Start Now!

After a controversial, unexpected end to the Fave 4 tournament, the championship has been set. To catch those up who may have missed, sometime after midnight on Thursday and before 4 AM, the votes from our Fave 4 poll disappeared. I wasn't aware of it until I checked Twitter around noon on Thursday afternoon and saw a buzz going on about the polls being reset.

I never got a response from Blogger.com on the incident, but I did find two other people complaining of the same issue. Well, eventually, their votes returned the following day and it appears that ours has returned as well.

Final tally showing for our Fave 4:
My Own Private Idaho (Brandon) prevailed over Squatlo Rant (Bob) by a score of 92-70.

In the other match-up, Mommy Confessions (Michelle) rolled over Colorful Rants of a Fed Up Sista (Falen) by a score of 79-39.

Two #1 seeds have made it into The Stunner Championship and the final voting will begin on Saturday afternoon and will conclude Monday, April 4th @ midnight Eastern.

In the meantime, the Troll-Free Three will square off for the Consolation Round title.

Man, Wife, & Dog v. Yeah. Good Times. v. LogAllot

Polls close on Monday @ 7 PM Pacific Time

Voting Error

*** All, when I checked Twitter on lunch, I saw that something happened over night that wiped out a lot of the votes. I'm unsure of the cause, but I will check it out as soon as I get home from work.

Sorry for the inconvience. I'm almost positive that Squatlo is laughing to himself right now... :)

I don't know if the votes will be restored just like this guy claims his were. When I shut my laptop down last night, both Brandon and Michelle had the lead. I wasn't aware of a problem until I read a few tweets about it this afternoon while on lunch.

I'll give the option to the contestants:

A) We can leave everything as-is and roll with the current votes (regardless if the missing votes return since the leaders are still intact).

B) We can have all four of you matched up at once for a winner-take-all one hour vote off to be scheduled for Saturday night (and I'll try to get set up with polldaddy.com instead of Blogger).

C) We can restart the Fave 4 again with a shorter voting time frame.

I'd love to hear opinions from the contestants as well as the fans. I've heard from Brandon and Bob, but not Falen or Michelle. Ladies?
